KAPOK

Kapok is a tropical tree which is to be found in
south east Asia and west Africa.

The word is also used to describe the fiber obtained
from its seed pods. Kapok is a fiber similar to cotton.

When the seed pods are opened, the fibers are removed
and dried in the sun.

Characteristics

Moisture Management
The fibre consists of about 80% air which gives a good natural
thermo regulation. Thanks to its particular form the Kapok fibre
allows moreover good air-circulation inside the worked textile which
permits it to be breathable. The same fibre has also a density
of only 0.35g/cm3.

Natural Anti Bacterial And Anti Mites
The Kapok fibre is resistant to molding and bacteria thanks to its
own particular natural substances contained inside.
These characteristics also make it resistant against the formation
and proliferation of mites.
Light, Tender Sensation
Owing to its characteristics, Kapok is also called vegetable feather, vegetable silk or vegetable cashmere.

The fabric extracted from these give a sensation of lightness and a tender and silky hand.

In Harmony With Nature
The Kapok plant is cultivated without using pesticides and fertilizers.

Kapok is like cotton as it is a pure natural fibre obtained from renewable resources and can be 100% recycled.A natural process from cultivation to composting, and in complete harmony with nature.
